Yesterday was a very exciting day in the life of Tony Newton (that’s me!).

I released a new product that shows exactly how to earn money by flipping blogs. But that wasn’t most exciting part……I got to work with Tony Shepherd on the project. Tony is a hugely successful internet marketer and someone I have followed for quite a while.

It was actually a huge coincidence. Tony contacted me one day regarding doing a custom blog for him. We got talking about what he wanted and I mentioned the fact that I had sold more than 200 blogs in the last 12 months.

Make Money By Giving Away Wordpress Themes

There are so many ways to make money with Wordpress and I like to use more than a dozen each year.

This particular one I did a few years ago but there’s no reason at all why it wouldn’t work just as well today, so I thought I would share exactly what I did

In August 2006 I created and launched the site – www.AdsenseBlogThemes.com. The site gave away free Wordpress and Blogger themes and has a one time offer for 100 themes.

I had a basic theme created for me, for I think it was $60. I then adapted it and created all the images for the blogs and put the package together. In total with all the images it stood me at $160.

Digital Photography School – Million Dollar Buyout Turned Down

In a post on his blog, Darren Rowse from the excellent blog Problogger.net revealed how he has turned down several offers for one of his blogs.

The blog in question is called Digital Photography School – and is just three years old (or so).

I found it interesting that he has considered the first 2 years as a “launch phase”, when most of us would consider that running a blog for 2 years of hard work as nothing more than just that, hard work!

We would all like a blog that was worth in excess of $1 million right? Well it’s actually quite a lot easier than you think

To give you just a few examples of what I am talking about here and what is easily possible, let’s take a look at some examples:

Bankaholic.com – You may have heard of this one already but the results are worth mentioning again. A two year old blog, updated just a few times a week and operated by ONE MAN was sold in 2009 for $15 Million.

Digital-Photography-School.com – This blog is owned by Darren Rowse from Problogger.net and recently he has revealed he has turned down 3 offers of almost $1 Million each for his photography blog. Again, the blog is just 2 years old and he revealed that the potential buyers weren’t even interested in how much it was making or even how much traffic it was getting!

Sometimes even small changes can make a big difference. This can be said about improving your blog too. Just the smallest of things can be changed to increase your blogs readership and the quality of it.

So let’s look at 5 blog tips that can improve your blog starting today:

#1 – Forget Being Generic

When you write your blog posts, try and let your own personality shine through. Don’t try and please everyone and you are allowed to have your own opinion, so make sure you use it.

#2 – Add Some Eye Candy

Let’s face it, reading through pages of text isn’t enough to keep most people happy. So try and add some images or videos to your posts. This makes your blog more engaging to your readers. They will enjoy the extra content you are giving them.

Interlink Your Posts For Better Exposure

Once you have been blogging for a while, you’ll start to build up dozens, possibly hundreds, of blog posts.

These posts can be pushed away to one side and only get traffic from the search engines. But this doesn’t mean they aren’t still useful, so interlinking to them from your new posts is a great idea.

Create Sneeze Pages

Darren Rowse from Problogger calls them sneeze pages.

What are they?

They are basically new blog posts that you create specifically to link to your previous posts. This gives your readers lots of value but also gives the search engines a greater opportunity to find them and rank them.

Free Blogging Resource #1 – WooThemes

I must admit, I love using the Wordpress themes from WooThemes. They have some excellent paid and free themes. One of my favourite free themes is called Mainstream. It’s the one that is currently being used on my blog (that you are looking at right now!).

They have quite a few free themes but the quality of them is just like a paid premium theme. So check them out as they can make a huge difference to how your own blog looks.

Wishlist Wordpress Membership Site Plugin – My Review

I’ve already used the plugin on several sites and it is ready to go on 3 new membership sites I’m launching in March.

So what exactly does it do?

Wishlist membership site plugin allows you to create a full blown membership site in just a couple of clicks of your mouse. Just upload the plugin, activate it and set up how you want it to be used.

The flexibility is what I love about it. You can have all your content protected or you can have a public blog that shows a certain amount of information but people have to join to get the rest. This can be either paying for it or just signing up for free.
