Why ClickBank Sucks for Make Money Online Products

ClickBank RefundsToday ClickBank introduced a new terms of service which states that they are going to charge higher fees if you’re refund rate is above 15% for a period of 60 days. This is to encourage people to make better products and in turn lower refund rates.

But as most of you will already know, when you sell or promote products in the make money online niche then you will struggle to get refund rates that low especially if you use ClickBank.

You see, as easy to use as ClickBank is to have your own affiliate program for your products, it’s also FAR too easy to claim a refund.

And most freebie seekers know this already.

All you need to do is send one email request or fill in a form and say that the product wasn’t as you expected and BANG…there you go, enjoy your free product.

As a product seller it is increasingly frustrating when you see the same names doing this over and over again.

Maybe if they want to reduce refund rates they should have a tighter procedure and ask some questions when the same people are refunding all the time?

That is why I would say I’ll probably never promote a make money online product through ClickBank again.

But I will say that it’s different in other ClickBank niches. Most buyers in the other niches don’t tend to buy lots of products in the same niche from ClickBank, so they don’t realise just how easy it is to get a refund.

Anyway, that’s just my quick rant of the day!

I’ll now go and continue to get my WSO ready for launch later today….

Making Money with Niche Adsense Blogs

Adsense Niche Blog ProfitsThere are many ways to monetize a blog. Paid advertising, affiliate marketing, CPA ads, text links ads, the list goes on and on. One of the easiest ways to monetize a blog is to put Adsense ads on them. The reason I say it’s the easiest is because Google will automatically show relevant ads for you. You don’t have to choose certain ads and guess what your visitors need. Just throw on some code and let Google take care of the rest.

So as easy as that sounds, Adsense just won’t work for all blogs. If you’re in a market where there are not many advertisers for instance, you just won’t get targeted enough ads to show and even worse they won’t pay very much when you get clicks on them.

So what’s the answer then?

Niche Adsense Blogs

The great thing about niche Adsense blogs is that you can target them for specific keywords and markets and build small blogs that are guaranteed to pay well when you get clicks on your ads.

Some great examples if high paying Adsense markets would be finance (loans, credit cards, stock market), medical, legal, education and the health and fitness market (to some extent).

By building blogs targeting these markets you won’t need a lot of traffic to make some decent money, especially if you can create a range of these blogs and keep on churning them out. All you need to do is pick your keywords, write some blog posts and create your blog with Adsense on it. Then throw some backlinks at the blogs and that will increase your rankings.

Higher rankings = More traffic = More money!

OK, so I’ve obviously simplified the process there but that is really all there is to it. Just create your own system, or follow someone else’s system (there are dozens of Adsense courses out there) and start building your own niche Adsense empire.

I’ve been making money with Adsense since 2003 and had more than 200,000 clicks on my sites. Now I’ll be honest, I haven’t concentrated solely on Adsense and have many other income streams but it’s still been a nice little amount each month.

My Adsense Clicks

But there’s something better than earnings a few dollars here and there and that is…

Flipping Adsense Blogs for HUGE Profits

The real money is made when you decide to sell your blogs. This is because sites or blogs that make money with Adsense get one of the highest returns currently from virtually any other monetization method.

We’re talking a 10 times monthly earnings lump sum minimum. Some Adsense blogs get 20 times monthly earnings or even more than that on regular occurrences. It all comes down to the age of the blog, its market and how much money it is making. The longer you keep the history going on the blog, the more money you will get when you sell it.

Established Blog + History of Traffic & Earnings = $$$$

Just check out recent sales on Flippa and you’re bound to find Adsense blogs selling for 10-20 times there monthly earnings. Flipping them is where the real money is made.

So that’s how to make money with niche Adsense blogs. Just build, earn, and sell.

Rinse and repeat.

Lump Sum Profits is a great course by Ryan Moran. I bought it and it’s full of really useful tips on building sites just like how I have just described. Personally I got a lot of great tips from the interviews as it’s interesting to see how each of them make money flipping sites for huge amounts of money.

Monetizing A Blog – How To Make More Money By Doing Less

Monetizing A BlogA question that I see asked so many times is “What is the best way to monetize my blog?

The answer of course is that there are literally dozens of ways to monetize a blog. But finding the best way will take some testing.

Monetizing a blog is not just about placing as many adverts on your theme as you can. It’s also not about stuffing affiliate links in all your blog posts.

So What Is It About?

What it is about is finding what appeals most to your readers. For instance, if your blog doesn’t get many return visitors, then placing Google Adsense on it probably won’t affect your blog as people don’t tend to come back anyway. So at least you earn money when they leave if they click on your ads.

But if you have a blog that does have return visitors and people like to read your content, then you really don’t want to lose them by showing them an advert and making them go to another site. So Adsense wouldn’t be a good fit.

What would be better in this instance is having a private members area or premium newsletter and charging a small monthly fee to your readers. They will pay it because they already like reading your posts and by having secret content that isn’t available anywhere else, makes it even more appealing.

Focus On One Method At A Time

Monetizing a blog can be far more effective if you only focus on one method. Whether it be paid advertising, textual advertising, affiliate marketing or a paid membership site. But you won’t know until you start testing things out for yourself.

That is why it is important to carefully monitor your stats. Look at whether your traffic levels are increasing or decreasing. Look at how long people are staying on your blog for. Look at whether they are new visitors or return visitors. You can get all this information by just installing Google Analytics on your blog for free.

Test out one monetization method and see what the results are in terms of your earnings and impact to your blog. If the stats remain similar and you make money, then that would be considered a positive monetization method. Then try another one and rinse and repeat.

I very rarely use more than 3-4 monetization methods on my blogs because all the extra work involved doesn’t usually pay off.

Enjoy Your Blogging!

When To Monetize Your Blog?

Blog MonetizationA question that I see commonly asked is “When is the best time to monetize my blog?

Whilst there is no definitive or correct answer, I guess it all comes down to what plans you have for your blog.

Is it for short term income?

Are you building many blogs?

Do you want a blog that you can build up for several years and really profit from?

Main Reason for Not Monetizing

Whilst it may seem strange to not monetize your blog, there is a very good reason for it; you will gain a stronger following and gain more backlinks to your blog if you don’t monetize straight away.

Why?

#1 – Visitors to your blog will see that you are just giving away quality information and not plastering adverts all over your blog. You are therefore not expecting anything in return. This difference will mean they are far more likely to bookmark or subscribe to your RSS feed and actually want to keep visiting your blog. You are building up your own blog fans.

#2 – Fellow bloggers or webmasters will be far more likely to link to your blogs if you don’t have banner ads or contextual ads. Whilst your content may still be high quality, many see it as helping you to make more money and don’t like doing that as they aren’t getting anything in return. But if they see that you are doing it all for free, they will gladly link to your blog in a second.

So the key to earning long term wealth from your blogs is to spend several months posting high quality content, gaining hungry followers who are desperate to read your posts and gain hundreds of free backlinks which will in turn boost your blog results in the search engines.

Ideal Time to Monetize

Once you have the above and your blog is getting a reasonable amount of traffic and backlinks, you can then start to add some monetization. Your visitors probably won’t mind too much as they are used to your content by now and will still be getting it.

People who have linked to your blog posts, probably never go back and check sites they are linking to, so your links will remain.

So if you can, try and build up your blogs first before trying to make money from them. This will ensure that you can make a lot more from them in the future :)

Enjoy Your Blogging!
